Tertiary Education and Vaccinations

Being vaccinated before starting a tertiary training institution is important for both personal health and the safety of the wider campus community. Universities and colleges bring together large numbers of people from different regions and backgrounds, often living, studying, and socializing in close contact. This environment makes it easier for infectious diseases to spread, and vaccination helps reduce that risk by strengthening immunity against preventable illnesses.

Vaccination also supports uninterrupted learning. Falling seriously ill can lead to missed classes, assessments, or even long-term health complications that affect academic performance. By being vaccinated, students are more likely to stay healthy and focused on their studies. In addition, vaccination helps protect vulnerable individuals on campus, such as those with weakened immune systems who may not be able to receive certain vaccines. Overall, being vaccinated before entering a tertiary institution is a responsible step that promotes individual well being, public health, and a safer, more productive learning environment.
